Who We Are

The Mary Tyler Moore Vision Initiative (MTM Vision) is rooted in Mary’s journey as an actress, entertainer, dancer, author, and diabetes research advocate.

Who We Are

Mary was diagnosed with diabetes at age 33. While she did not see a cure for diabetes-related vision loss and blindness in her lifetime, her legacy of leadership lives on through our work.

Mary’s Dream

Driven by her husband, Dr. S. Robert Levine’s dedication to making Mary’s dream of a world without vision loss and blindness from diabetes a reality, we champion and advance diabetes research, providing essential resources and tools to accelerate progress. Though Mary didn’t see a cure in her lifetime, her legacy of research advocacy and commitment to finding cures for diabetes and its complications lives on through our work. Learn more about Mary.
